The term “Missing Middle” was coined by Natasa Dudar.
How SafeSpace Came to Be
SafeSpace grew out of two real moments in our everyday work. In December 2025, Theresa read the very first version of our website and wrote to us: “You sound like a true safe space – reading this warmed my heart.” At that moment, the term itself was completely new to me. Theresa was the first to name what our lived values of tolerance, respect, and eye-level connection feel like from the outside.
In March 2026 came the second spark: our trainer Elnura shared openly in our team chat that she was stepping back from her training to care for her mental well-being. That moment brought everything together: with “Humanity at Her Best” as our guiding motif at UNO.TEAM, caring for humanity begins right within our own circle. People who accompany and strengthen others thrive when their own inner strength is reliably nourished and held.
Originally, I planned to launch SafeSpace right away as a standalone platform, and registered safespace.uno along with several sister domains for that purpose. Soon it became clear how valuable deliberate intermediate steps are: by letting SafeSpace grow first under the shared roof of UNO.TEAM, we are placing the project step by step onto a strong, enduring foundation.
The Four Spheres
Many people carry great responsibility every day – in education, care, culture and teams. On the outside, everything runs reliably, while inside grows the wish for a place where every expectation may rest. SafeSpace offers that permission: to pause, feel your own rhythm, and choose what nourishes you right now.
Silence
Arriving and breathing. A calm moment in which the nervous system can soften.
Reflection
Listening inward. Noticing feelings, thoughts and the body's signals with gentle attention.
Exchange
Meeting as equals. Listening in a protected circle and feeling how connection restores strength.
Expression
Sharing thoughts openly, held by clear boundaries and mutual trust.
What Becomes Free
At its core, intelligence is attunement: the ability to resonate with what sustains life – our bodies, other people, the natural world. In a protected space, the attention we usually keep turned outward can come to rest. The energy this frees flows back into creativity, curiosity and connection.

Questions
How do I find my way back to my natural rhythm?
Our nervous system thrives on a rhythm of activity and rest. Tiredness is the body's wise signal: time for calm, meaning and real connection. SafeSpace offers exactly that room.
How does task-mode turn back into living?
Through moments that are simply allowed to be, purpose-free and at your own pace. In them, wonder, beauty and inner clarity return on their own.
What awaits me at SafeSpace?
A protected space to arrive, breathe and connect. You choose freely: listen, share, or simply be there in quiet.
What does “Humanity at Her Best” mean?
Slowing down, choosing compassion, and experiencing how light responsibility becomes when we carry it together. Even small gestures of kindness change the atmosphere of a whole room. (After Dr. Pablo Barriga.)
What is the first step?
Giving yourself permission to pause for a moment – for example on Wednesdays at 17:00 at Liviaplatz.
